His Majesty: Tiramisù

Hi everyone …a promise is a promise …so ring the bells…HIS MAJESTY TIRAMISU’ makes his solemn entry to the blog!

For a blog called “tiramisu” it seems to me the least give you the recipe of one of the most loved italian dessert also because it is not difficult to prepare.

I prepared  it for the first time, I think, about forty years ago, for the man who would become my husband. The cake was not widely known, there was no internet, and since, as I’ve always said, the kitchen and’ a mix of love, passion and imagination I don’t know how I managed to create a Mr. tiramisu which then in the years to follow had  become His Majesty. In fact, every time I look at someone tasting my tiramisu for the first time, I see a so delighted expression on his face that gives me a great gratification. Moreover, many of my friends ask me to prepare the tiramisu for them when they have a feast, and even if a lot of desserts are offered, rest assured that His Majesty’ is the first to be devoured. But i received the most beautiful compliment short time ago. There’s a place in Rome which is mainly specialized in preparing tiramisu. Well, i was told that mine exceeds even the one of the pastry.

The dessert, as I said, it’s not difficult to prepare, you’ll just need to follow those little tricks that I will tell you above and remember that, for the success of any recipe  it is necessary that the ingredients are fresh.

Let me remind that the one who was my husband unfortunately passed away two years ago … a slice is for you Tom!

And now…LIGHT THE FIRES!

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 large packet of Savoiardi

- 500 g mascarpone

- 125 g caster sugar

- 4 eggs

- cocoa

WEAR THE APRON, WASH YOUR HAND…LET’S GET STARTED!

- The first thing to do is prepare the coffee. I still use my grandmother’s Moka!

- Next step, put the coffee in a bowl and let it cool

- Now begin to prepare the cream. Put  the caster sugar and 4 egg yolks in a bowl, taking care to put aside the egg whites.

- Beat them until pale and thick.

- Now add the mascarpone.

- Keep beating until the cream will be soft and smooth

-  Beat egg whites until soft peaks form and then add them to the mascarpone mixture taking care to mix them up from below.  In fact, just this way the cream will reach a velvety texture, a very delight for your taste buds.

- You can now proceed to the composition of His Majesty! Take an oval plate and started to put a layer of Savoiardi that you will have previously dipped for few seconds in the coffee. Remember to not dip them too much otherwise the biscuits will become too squishy.

- Cover the biscuits with the cream using a spatula an let it fall gently on the sides; the pleasure of this tiramisu is in fact the cream!

You don’t have to do anything else but to try it. It does not require much time for preparation and the true pleasure for you palate is ‘guaranteed! One last tip … prepar the dessert always in the morning for the evening or vice versa, cause it’s better to refrigerate it from 5 hours on.

Let me know if you have tried it! Waiting for your comments!

See you
