Barcelona is the first center of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain , there is a dichotomy between Barcelona which features the Catalan soul that makes anchored to their own culture and traditions and the cosmopolitan open to foreign trends .
It ‘ a city’ full of interesting ideas where you can find expressions of modernism alongside architectural and artistic masterpieces .
We move from the colorful market of boqueiria where the atmosphere is special , we’re suddenly immersed in a world full of colors , smells and sounds in a mosaic where sweets, spices and fruits are the colored plugs and gaudy , the major architectural works of Gaudi that have been posted by UNESCO sites : World Heritage Site , La Sagrada Familia
The wonderful home Batillò , Mila house and the house Vicens , wonderful buildings, in front of which you’ll feel the same emotion in the soul that feels in front of a painting, you’ll live an unforgettable experience , those works will remain forever in your memory inextricably … !
And now we come to our dinner… Catalan cuisine is pretty basic rustic , rich variety of dishes usually accompanied by four sauces : the sofrito , samfaina , the picada , the aioli .
Due to the location of the city, the Catalan cuisine blends mar y muntania : valuable fish and shellfish , meat, especially pork and venison are distinguished partridges . Everything is accompanied by a wide selection of fruits and vegetables and wild mushrooms and grass.
In some Catalan dishes , however, feels the influence of foreign countries , such as the delicate cuisine provenzale neighboring cuisines such as Valencian .
And then around 21:30 we start our dinner , in Spain you’ll eat late … we begin our comida de la tarde !
If you say you say Spanish tapas , a variety of prepared foods that are eaten as appetizers or hors d’oeuvres are served me … in small quantities : pinchito moruno , a skewer of pork and marinated chicken
We continue with the tortilla espagnola , an omelette with potatoes and onions and the albondigas meatballs in sauce
Papas wings oils , are potatoes with garlic sauce
And to finish this first round banderillas , skewers of fish, vegetables , boiled eggs , shrimp, cucumber and olives
But the Catalan specialty for eccellenzza is the pa amb tomaquet , a bruschetta rubbed with garlic, tomatoes and olives accompanied by seafood ham or peppers
Can not miss one of my favorite dishes : paella, a wonderful mix of flavors and colors that enchant the palate , rice , fish and vegetables form a combination that sends fans into raptures of this dish .
My comida de la tarde continues with the mariscada , a dish of seafood with prawns fried with olive oil and garlic
I do not miss a taste of escudella i carn d’ olia , a local beef stew .
And on the subject of desserts … we are in Barcelona, can not miss the creme brulee ? But no, a blaze of yellow cream covered with caramelized sugar , a pleasure for gourmands
And now we taste even falona , cake stuffed with cheese and cream
All washed generously with muscatel a sweet dessert wine .
Wave Barcelona, magical and harmonious shapes, colorful, vivid , unique, I return to Spain in the heart of my couch, my usual cup of espresso !
