Returning from one of the virtual field trips ” at dinner in the world” ,
we reported the tortillas from Mexico ,
food that sometimes substitue bread, but that is also used for many recipes.
In honour of Mexico and Italy, which have the same colors in their flags ,
I made the tricolor tortillas , placing a mixture of paprika and herbs … good … but good !
And now … LIGHT THE FIRES !
INGREDIENTS:
- 100g of white flour
- 100g of corn flour
- 150g of lukewarm water
-1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
-1 / 2 teaspoon salt
For the tortillas red : paprika
For the green tortillas :
I chopped all the herbs I had available , parsley, rosemary , thyme …
WEAR THE APRON , WASH YOUR HANDS , BEGIN !
- Put the oil and salt in warm water ,
sift the flours and add water little by little ,
form a soft dough that does not stick to your hands .
Let stand covered for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into three pieces,
in one mix paprika , put the herbs in the other ,
the third such leave white, ah in that I added a bit of red food coloring ( optional ) .
Now divide the dough into 6 balls that are going to roll out between two sheets of baking paper ,
heat a frying pan , when it’s hot will cook the tortillas.
Et voila … the tortillas !
