Welcome to Austria
and more precisely in his fascinating and beautiful capital with a glorious imperial past .
The city has a remarkable monumental structure willed by  ”enlightened”sovereigns
that called at their court brilliant architects
that made  a  sumptuous capital.
It can be defined as well as the “capital of music” is also a monument to the Middle Ages to the Baroque , historicism and Art Nouveau.

So much to see in Vienna :
we begin by following in the footsteps of the Habsburgs visiting the magnificent castles of Schonbrunne and Belvedere Baroque
The first one is one of the most important monuments in Austria and in 1996 was inducted into the list of world cultural heritage sites by UNESCO,
the second one, was built by Lucas Von Hiidebrandt for Prince Eugene of Savoy.

The St. Stephen’s Cathedral dates back to the fourteenth century and can be described as the most eminent Gothic edifice ,
the Viennese call it ” Steffl ” by the term designating the spire of the tower,
one of the highest in the world, visible from almost every point of the city.

Ringstrasse , is one of the most famous streets of the Austrian capital ,
call ring … ring is an avenue that borders the city center of Vienna ,
Here you will find the State Opera , Parliament , the Holfburg , City Hall …

The Prater is a park – attraction among the most largest and most famous ,
full of bars , rides, booths ,
was once a hunting reserve and was opened to the public in the late ’700 ,
the Reiesenrad is the largest Ferris wheel high 65metri ,
symbol of the city , despite having been destroyed during the Second World War, it was rebuilt exactly as it was.

Wiener Staatsoper is a famous theater in Vienna said “his musical symbol ”
some critics called  it a train station
because the building is covered by a mighty metal frame ,
however, symbolizes the reputation of Vienna as a city of music.

And here we are ready to taste the most delicious Austrian specialties :

Leberknödelsuppe , it is a light beef broth with dumplings made with liver and flavored with parsley and marjoram.

Viennese Schnitzel ,
is perhaps the symbol of Austrian cuisine ,
can be prepared with either beef than with pork

Another feature is the goulash ,
the wonderful beef stew flavored with paprika and flavored sauce usually served with boiled potatoes

Serviettenknodel , is a roll of dough for the dumplings , cooked in salted water and served cut into slices … tasty !

Gefuelltepaprika ,
are some delicious and spicy peppers full of rice, smoked meat and baked in tomato sauce

Oh ..  the dessert trolley is coming !

If you say Vienna say …
Apple strudel and Sacher Torte ,
the first a crumbly pastry filled with apples and cinnamon and raisins,
the second a delicious layer of apricot jam under a thick chocolate coating

But in addition to these classic goodness … I missed …

Palatschinken , seem simple pancakes,
but in reality they look like French crepes
a bit ‘ thicker stuffed with fruit and cheese, chocolate cream or jam .

And the dinner in this romantic and charming capital of Europe coming to  end …
all return to our houses , in our cities ,
my incomparable couch with my hot espresso are waiting for me…
