where modern skyscrapers contrast with colonial houses , the nineteenth-century buildings , the mud huts :
Lima has many facets which make it to be the starting point ,

as the city unites in itself all the faces of a country that has the characteristics of an entire continent.
We begin our tour :

Another museum that you have to see is the Gold Museum with its dazzling jewelery saved by robbery of the conquistadors .

represents the center of the colonial city , along its perimeter you can see the Cathedral and the Government Palace
The Government Palace was the residence of Francisco Pizarro,
which built it on the land that had been occupied by Tauli Cusco, governor of the valley of the Rimac .
Every day at 11:42 the Patio of Honor becomes the scene of the changing of the guard

Soon we will sit at the table,
it must be said that Peruvian cuisine is really varied ,
has ancient origins , great tastes ,
but above all it is a spicy cuisine ,
given the presence of numerous varieties of chillies , some cultivated only in Peru as the ajiamarillo and comote .
Let’s start with Ceviche Criollo ,
fish marinated with garlic, salt , coriander, ginger
and sutil limon ( lime flavor a slightly acidic but extremely aromatic )
Taste now … and why not … a dish that has been influenced by the large Japanese community that is located in Peru,
we are talking about Ceviche Nikkei ,
a mix of fish made with garlic , soy sauce , nori seaweed , cut into julienne strips.
Let us now turn to taste a dish that is part of the ancient tradition Peruvian …
Lomo saltado , beef , cut into strips and fry in the past , blended with the pure Pisco ,
which is the famous brandy of Peru.
If you omit the chips,
This dish is sometimes served for breakfast with coffee … between two slices of bread (we prefer the croissants ! )
The Papas Rellenas ,
potatoes are delicious stuffed with beef, olives , onion, eggs and pepper and then fried ,
exist with different fillings and they are often sold as street food .
Pulpo a taste of Anticuchero ,
obviously this is an octopus cooked in a special procedure
that in addition to boiling provides the browning in the oven ,
is topped with a spicy sauce made from aquipaca , a chili pretty strong.
Dessert trolley ? Oh yeah … gracias
Suspiro Limeno , also known as suspiro de limena ,
legend says that this sweet remind the sweetness of the women of Lima and their sighs …
is prepared using two types of milk and egg whites … delicate sweet !
That good are Alfajores , typical cakes stuffed with dulce de leche
And finally … a spectacular cake ,
colorful, beautiful : cake Helada ,
a three-layer cake with a basis of gelatin of strawberries,
strawberry jelly with milk and beat bizcochuelo (a type of sponge cake ) .
And for tonight our dinner is over,
the journey is dedicated to the dream of my friend Gabriella …
I return to my cozy sofa and the cup of my irreplaceable expressed …
I always hoping that the dinner was to your liking !
Until next time!
And … the journey continues!
