Welcome to Holland!
Here we are in Amsterdam , a city that has one of the major centers of Renaissance throughout Europe.
Also referred to as ” the Venice of the North” for its system of canals,
is a small but lively esrtemamente for its many cultural activities ,
for ancient and modern architecture and its museums.
Starting our tour of the city , we find that there are many things to see:
Dam Square , you can consider the nerve center of Amsterdam,
in this square is the Royal Palace,
residence of the Queen of Holland and the New Church , to clear the neoclassical style.
It ‘ a place so large that during the holiday season, here is equipped a skating rink on ice.
The Flower Market,
is an absolute must for those who visit this city .
And it’s unique in all the world , for those who love flowers is a real pleasure to get lost in the middle of tuipani , daffodils, hyacinths.
Opened in 1862
developed and became the most famous flower market of Holland …
whatever your favorite flower , you will find it here for sure!
Vondelpark,
is a park of over 45 hectares , considered the green lung of the city,
almost a city institution , the park is an outdoor theater,
often are held in summer outdoor concerts and a golf tournament .
Van Gogh Museum,
This site houses the most important collection of works by the painter considered an ” absolute genius .”
The museum was renovated and an entire floor is devoted to other Dutch artists .
Park Keukenhof
is located halfway between Amsterdam and a village called Lisse,
the park is called the garden of Europe , and especially in the spring becomes a riot of colors .
Dutch cuisine is undoubtedly a simple and little elaborated,
you usually eat a complete meal , preceded by a soup and at the end always a dessert .
We taste some typical dishes together !
Erwtensoep , is a soup made of peas with ham and sausage.
Another soup,
but less dense than the previous bonensoep The Bruine , based on dark beans , also prepared with ham and sausage
The third soup that is proposed to us is the Hunkessoep , potato , green beans and white beans
Tasted Frikandel now , a very spicy sausage , made with the residue of pork
Bitterballen , are fried croquettes ,
made with cream filling and dense beef and covered with eggs, flour and breadcrumbs
Fish is another star of Dutch cuisine
a primary role is assumed dall’aringa , is also known in the Lekkerbekje , white fish fried in batter
The Hutspot is prepared with carrots and mashed potatoes and served with a braised beef called Klapstuk
Dessert trolley ? Aan je !
Here come the Poffrtjes , like small pancakes but sweeter and thicker
Stroopwafel is a great biscuit filling of caramel
It ends with a fantastic apple pie … much used on birthdays
Dag Amsterdam!

My confortable sofa is waiting for me as always, coming up with my hot espresso …
